Gallery: The most expensive watch-winder in the world?

Fabled Swiss custom automobile specialist Rinspeed led by automotive extraordinaire Frank M. Rinderknecht showed off the XchangeE driver-less concept car earlier this year. A driver-less car is a unique proposition in its own regard, however our interest in this project stems from Carl F. Bucherer’s involvement. ‘Why?’ we hear you ask. Quite simply because this is possibly the only watch-winder in the world with four wheels and a motor that actually has a horsepower rating.

Rinspeed's driver-less concept car is incredibly digital but it's also got a watch winder for your automatic watch.

Rinspeed’s driver-less concept car is incredibly digital but it’s also got a watch winder for your automatic watch.

You see Carl F. Bucherer has integrated a futuristic-looking watch-winder into the car’s dashboard, and sat in that is a striking blue-dialed Patravi TravelTec automatic watch that can tell you the time across three different time zones simultaneously.

The total cost of the car is over a million dollars but you can have the Patravi TravelTec on its own (as it doesn’t seem to be a bespoke piece in this case) for considerably less money.
