The Formula 1 Calibre 16 – reference CAZ2011.FT8024 – is a racing inspired sports chronograph that features a 44mm case made from black titanium carbide coated steel. It features three sub dials and is powered by TAG’s Calibre 16 automatic movement, which – on this watch – offers a date complication and 42 hours of power reserve.

Nearly a month ago, on October 24, A. Lange & Söhne celebrated the 20th birthday of the Lange 1. The Saxon watchmaker paid tribute to the watch family by introducing some extraordinary limited edition timepieces such as the Lange 1 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst (read our story about this watch by clicking here) and the Lange 1 “20th Anniversary” sets (read about these sets by clicking here).

Since they were introduced Lange has been taking these watches – along with some of their other 2014 novelties – on a world tour. On November 16th those very watches were in Dubai for a special event at the company’s flagship boutique in The Dubai Mall. Ahead of the event A. Lange & Söhne very graciously granted us early access to the watches for some wrist (and drooling) time.

It took us a while to believe it but, yes, it's a wristwatch and it tells the time.
