Speake-Marin is joining the sixth edition of the Only Watch charity auction, and will be donating a unique timepiece, the Resilience “One Art”. Only Watch is a biennial event that raises money to finance research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a neuromuscular disease that primarily affects young boys. This year, a total of 40 watch brands are joining the fight against DMD.
Based in Switzerland, Speake-Marin is an independent brand that was established in 2002 by Peter Speake-Marin. The Resilience comes from the brand’s J-Class collection, and features the now iconic Piccadilly case, which – on this occasion – has been specially engraved with an elegant motif. The unique piece is further differentiated via a sapphire that is set in the crown of the watch, and a red gold seconds hand.
The watch is classically sized with a 38mm rose gold case, while a Vaucher 3002 automatic movement gives the watch a power reserve of 50-hours when fully wound.
The Resilience “One Art” will go on tour with the other Only Watch 2015 pieces (read our story here), and will be visible in Monaco, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, London and, finally Geneva. The Only Watch 2015 charity auction will take place on November 7.
