The 26th edition of the annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) will take place in Geneva, kicking off on January 18, 2016, and will run until January 22. The big news is that nine independent brands will be joining the event, though one brand is also renouncing its participation.
The forthcoming edition of SIHH will welcome Christophe Claret, De Bethune, H. Moser & Cie, Hautlence, HYT, Kari Voutilainen, Laurent Ferrier, MB&F, and Urwerk. The nine new brands will occupy exhibition space that was previously used by Ralph Lauren, who has opted not to participate in 2016.
The independent brands join maisons such as A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Greubel Forsey, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Panerai, Parmigiani, Piaget, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Vacheron Constantin, bringing the total exhibitor count up to 24 brands.
SIHH is a trade-only fair that is open to watch professionals and individuals who have been invited by participating brands. The first edition of SIHH took place in 1991, and featured five exhibitors; Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Piaget, Gérald Genta and Daniel Roth.
