Despite the fact that the third generation Overseas collection hasn’t actually hit retail channels as yet, Vacheron Constantin has just announced a new dial color option – brown. This dial color will be offered on the world time, chronograph, date and small model (ladies) Overseas references.
Vacheron Constantin first unveiled the third generation Overseas at SIHH 2016 – the watches offered new in-house calibres, which featured the Hallmark of Geneva, and an easy-fit bracelet/strap change system. The latter allows the owner to change between bracelet and straps within a matter of seconds, without the aid of any tools. You can read our original story on the third generation Overseas by clicking here.
Now – in addition to the original dial options offered across the collection – an attractive new brown dial has been added, and although we have not yet seen the watches in person, in pictures, each reference looks absolutely gorgeous. We’re partial to the Overseas Chronograph, though the Overseas World Time, which can display 37 time zones on its dial is a close second.
Vacheron Constantin uses a translucent brown lacquer to achieve the look you see in the pictures, and the brand says this application intensifies the depth of the dial. The dials are said to alternate between sunburst, snailed and velvety finishes.
The third generation Overseas collection is slated to hit Middle East boutiques later in the year, and we suspect the brown dial references could hit at the same time, if not just a little after. We’ll bring you live pictures of this new reference as soon as we can but until that happens, you can check out the super-useful easy-fit bracelet/strap change system by watching the video below.
We’ve also additional press photographs of the brown dial Overseas collection just below. Let us know what you think in the comments below or via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We’re also on Snapchat, just look for @HorologyME.
