To celebrate its 10-year anniversary in Dubai, Christie’s kicked off a busy week of events and auctions which began last week, on Sunday, March 13. In fact, this is the first time that Christie’s has held four auctions in the span of one sales season in Dubai.

Celebrating Earth Hour with the Grand Lange 1 Moonphase ‘Lumen’

Time flies when you have a great watch on your wrist – we’re now just a few hours away from Earth Hour 2016. For us in the Middle East, and more specifically the UAE, you can participate in the initiative between precisely 8.30pm to 9.30pm. In honor of this important climate change initiative, we thought we’d introduce you to what we think is the perfect watch to keep track of time during this hour, the A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 Moonphase ‘Lumen’.

Three must-haves from Christie’s Dubai March Important Watches auction

Christie’s is celebrating its 10th anniversary in the Middle East this year, and over the coming week, the auction house will be running education courses, and auctions in Dubai. The Important Watches Auction is the auction that interests us (obviously), and while there are numerous interesting modern and vintage timepieces up for grabs, we’ve listed the three that we’d love to add to our collection.

Hands-On: MB&F Legacy Machine 101 Platinum

When it was launched in 2014, the Legacy Machine 101 was the first MB&F timepiece to carry a movement that was designed by the brand itself. It had – and still has – the most classic looks of any MB&F timepiece, and was (and still is) the brand’s most accessible wristwatch. In January of this year, ahead of SIHH, the independent watchmaker released a new model, and we had the good fortune to spend some time with it recently.

The uncommon rarity of Grieb & Benzinger watches

There are rare watches, and then there are RARE watches. Grieb & Benzinger specialises in the latter, the German company sees mechanical watchmaking as an art form, and sources historical or rare watch movements, passing them on to its artisans for refurbishment and serious decoration, before putting them into precious metal cases for the lucky owners.
