Girard-Perregaux introduces 40mm Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges

Fact: In 1867, Girard-Perregaux’s (GP) Tourbillon with Three Bridges won its first chronometry award from the Neuchâtel Observatory. Development on these watches began a few years prior, in the mid-1850s, and since then, they’ve become an iconic signature piece of the brand. Now, in honor of the watch’s 150th anniversary, the brand has released a new 40mm version of its Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges.

Georges Kern resigns from Richemont

As per a statement issued by luxury conglomerate Richemont, Georges Kern has resigned as head of watchmaking, marketing and digital. The surprising change takes effect immediately, and comes just several weeks after Kern assumed his new position. Kern was previously CEO of IWC for several years.

Peter Speake-Marin leaves brand he founded in 2002

Swiss newspaper 24 heures posted a story yesterday stating that English watchmaker Peter Speake-Marin left the brand he founded 15-years ago. His departure was said to be in the works for some time, and the talented watchmaker is now already working on his next project.

Introducing the Singer Track 1 Chronograph

Falling in the ‘say what?!’ news category, California-based Singer Vehicle Design is now getting into watches. The Singer Track1 Chronograph launches the brand’s foray into watchmaking, as well as the new ‘Singer Reimagined’ company, which will focus on mechanical watches from its home in Geneva. Singer Vehicle Design, as before, will continue its focus on restoring and modifying Porsche 911s.

The Track1 is designed primarily as an easy-to-read chronograph.
