Celebrating 20 Years of Lange 1

Turning 20 is a big deal, especially when you’ve been representing the identity and core values of a brand like A. Lange & Söhne for all that time. On October 24 of this year, the iconic Lange 1 will have been in production for 20 years, and will continue to be tasked with upholding the brand values of the Saxon watchmaking company. To commemorate this event, Lange is releasing five different limited-edition watch pairs, consisting of a 38.5mm Lange 1 (for men) and a 36.1mm Lange 1 (for ladies). Both watches are just 10mm thick and each set is limited to a mere 20 pairs.

Watch-Spotting: The Last Ship

I’ve just started watching TNT’s new post-apocalyptic drama ‘The Last Ship’. The series is based on the novel written by William Brinkley, and the basic premise is that a global pandemic wipes out over 80% of the planet’s population, leaving only a few survivors, including the crew of the fictional USS Nathan James. The hour-long episodes follow the exploits of the crew, as they attempt to find a cure to stop the pandemic. Grey’s Anatomy alumni Eric Dane stars as Tom Chandler, captain of the guided missile destroyer, and on his wrist, we spotted IWC’s Big Pilot’s Watch Top Gun Miramar.

The Last Ship stars Eric Dane as Captain Tom Chandler (right) and Adam Baldwin as Commander Mike Slattery (left). Notice the Top Gun Miramar on Dane's left wrist.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s (JLC) Reverso has found its way onto the wrists of the crème de la crème of society since 1931. It’s a special watch and to mark occasions in the watch’s history, JLC has taken to releasing limited edition or limited production anniversary pieces. The latest is the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1948, and we’ve learned that it will be in JLC’s Middle East boutiques in October of this year.

The latest member of JLC's Reverso collection is one heck of a handsome dress watch.
