H. Moser & Cie. introduces the Swiss Mad Watch with a case made from Swiss Cheese

A few weeks ago H. Moser & Cie. (HMC) announced that it was dropping the ‘Swiss Made’ label from its dials, and promised to unveil ‘the most Swiss Made watch ever created’ on January 12, 2017. True to its word, the independent watchmaker unveiled the Swiss Mad Watch yesterday, a piece unique watch (1/1) with a case made from Swiss Cheese (seriously).

This is a piece unique in every sense of the word.

Omega launches Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday limited edition watch

Today, January 10, is a very, very special ‘Speedy Tuesday’. Why? Well, earlier today Omega unveiled the Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday limited edition, a watch that celebrates the online global community of #SpeedyTuesday fans, and marks Omega’s first e-tail effort.

Omega has given ‘Speedy Tuesday’ a big, official nod.

Jean-Claude Biver to take over as interim CEO of Zenith

Zenith will soon fall under the stewardship of Jean-Claude Biver for an as yet unknown period of time, as Aldo Magada exits the role of President and CEO. Magada took the top job at Zenith in July 2014, after Jean-Frédéric Dufour vacated the position to become CEO of Rolex.

Prior to joining Zenith as President and CEO, Magada was International Director of Sales & Business Development at Breitling.

Bell & Ross introduces the limited edition BR-X1 Chronograph Tourbillon Sapphire

French watchmaker Bell & Ross has just launched the BR-X1 Chronograph Tourbillon Sapphire. It is the first watch in the brand’s portfolio to have a sapphire crystal case, and is based on the limited edition BR-X1 Chronograph Tourbillon that was launched in 2015.

Bell & Ross has just raised the upper limit on its BR-X1 collection.

H. Moser & Cie. (HMC) has announced that it will drop the ‘Swiss Made’ demarcation from the dials of its watches from January 1, 2017. The move is in response to new legislation governing the ‘Swiss Made’ label, which the independent brand says are still too lax, and may actually mislead customers. The brand also says it will unveil the most ‘Swiss Made watch ever created’ on January 12, 2017. We can’t wait…

Christie’s announces new leadership structure

Auction house Christie’s has announced that it will be making changes to its governance structure, which will take effect from January 1, 2017. The 250-year old auction house has appointed Guillaume Cerutti to be its new CEO, based on the recommendation of current CEO Patricia Barbizet, and with the support of the Pinault family. The Pinault family owns Groupe Artémis, a French holding company that owns Christie’s as well as several other entities.
