Gallery: Photography overkill with MB&F’s incredible Legacy Machine 101

We have a lot of respect for MB&F at Horology Middle East, and within the independent brand’s creative portfolio, the Legacy Machine 101 stands as one of our favorite pieces. We recently had the opportunity to spend some time with the white-gold and rose-golf references, and decided it was the perfect time to go crazy with our camera.

The Legacy Machine 101’s case is comprised of 35 components.

Hands-On: MB&F’s Legacy Machine 1 M.A.D. Dubai

2011 was a big year for MB&F. The independent brand opened its first M.A.D. Gallery (Geneva), and launched the Legacy Machine 1, which introduced the world to the new (at the time) Legacy Machine collection. Since that time MB&F has introduced several Legacy Machines, but today the brand is revisiting the LM1 with a limited edition model, which will be sold exclusively through the recently opened M.A.D. Gallery in Dubai. It’s called the Legacy Machine 1 M.A.D. Dubai, and it has one of the most beautiful watch dials we’ve ever seen.

Hands-On: MB&F Legacy Machine 101 Platinum

When it was launched in 2014, the Legacy Machine 101 was the first MB&F timepiece to carry a movement that was designed by the brand itself. It had – and still has – the most classic looks of any MB&F timepiece, and was (and still is) the brand’s most accessible wristwatch. In January of this year, ahead of SIHH, the independent watchmaker released a new model, and we had the good fortune to spend some time with it recently.

M.A.D. Gallery Dubai brings mechanical kinetic art to the region

Dubai is the location that independent horological lab MB&F has chosen to open its third M.A.D. Gallery. M.A.D. (short for Mechanical Art Devices) is a concept that was launched in 2011 with the opening of the first gallery in Geneva, on Rue Verdaine, just a short distance away from MB&F’s offices. Since then, MB&F has opened a M.A.D. Gallery in Taipei and, now, Dubai.
