Introducing the Richard Mille RM 53-01 Tourbillon Pablo Mac Donough

Six years after releasing its first polo watch developed with Argentinean polo professional Pablo Mac Donough (RM 53), Richard Mille (RM) has announced its successor at SIHH 2018. It’s called the RM 53-01 Tourbillon Pablo Mac Donough and like its predecessor, this new watch is designed to survive the abuse of polo. But, unlike its closed-dial predecessor which was limited to just 15-pieces, this new model has a dial that is protected by sapphire glass (laminated sapphire glass to be exact).

It’s handsome and Mille fans are already going nuts about it on Instagram.

Only Watch 2015 to receive Richard Mille RM 27-02 Tourbillon Prototype

Richard Mille (RM) collaborated with Rafael Nadal to develop its limited edition ‘RM 027 Tourbillon – Rafael Nadal’, and now, for the sixth edition of the Only Watch 2015 charity auction, the haute horology brand is joining forces with the tennis sensation once again. No new watch is being developed this time around but rather, Richard Mille and Nadal are jointly donating the RM 27-02 Tourbillon prototype to the charity auction – the very same watch that accompanied Nadal to all the Grand Slam tournaments that he participated in.

The RM 27-02 Tourbillon prototype has ridiculous amounts of sporting pedigree.

TAG Heuer expands Formula 1 watch family

Amidst the backdrop of the 2014 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, TAG Heuer called upon CEO Stephane Linder, McLaren Mercedes Formula One driver and brand ambassador Jenson Button, and two Gyrfalcons to take the wraps off its latest timepiece – the Formula 1 Calibre 16 automatic watch.

The Formula 1 Calibre 16 – reference CAZ2011.FT8024 – is a racing inspired sports chronograph that features a 44mm case made from black titanium carbide coated steel. It features three sub dials and is powered by TAG’s Calibre 16 automatic movement, which – on this watch – offers a date complication and 42 hours of power reserve.

Gallery: The most expensive watch-winder in the world?

Fabled Swiss custom automobile specialist Rinspeed led by automotive extraordinaire Frank M. Rinderknecht showed off the XchangeE driver-less concept car earlier this year. A driver-less car is a unique proposition in its own regard, however our interest in this project stems from Carl F. Bucherer’s involvement. ‘Why?’ we hear you ask. Quite simply because this is possibly the only watch-winder in the world with four wheels and a motor that actually has a horsepower rating.

Rinspeed's driver-less concept car is incredibly digital but it's also got a watch winder for your automatic watch.
